Warranty
The LORVA 5-Year Warranty
- We build sofas meant to move house with you, get rearranged on a whim, and still hold their shape years later. Our warranty says so in writing.
Every LORVA sofa and every individual module is covered for five years from the date of receiving against defects in materials and workmanship.
What's covered
For five years from delivery, we'll repair or replace any module affected by:
- Foam that fails prematurely — loss of resilience beyond normal settling, or foam that cracks, splits, or collapses.
- Seam and stitching failure — seams that separate, stitching that unravels, or upholstery that pulls away under normal use.
- Connector failure — Velcro connecting straps that tear, detach, or stop holding modules together.
- Zipper and closure defects — zippers that break, separate, or fail to close.
- Fabric defects present at delivery — flaws in the weave, dye lots that don't match within the same order, or upholstery faults that weren't caused by use.
- Manufacturing defects — anything that arrived wrong from the factory.
Normal foam settling is expected. Cushions soften slightly in the first few months as the foam breaks in; that's the material behaving correctly, not a defect. We consider it a covered failure when a cushion loses more than 10% of its original loft under normal household use.
What we'll do
When a claim is approved, we'll do one of the following, at our discretion and at no cost to you:
1. Send a replacement part — a new cushion, cover, or set of straps.
2. Replace the affected module. This is where modularity pays off. One seat fails, one seat gets replaced. You keep the rest of your sofa, and because the line stays consistent, the new module matches what's already in your room.
3. Repair the module, where a repair fully restores it.
If a module has been discontinued, we'll offer the closest current equivalent. We can't guarantee exact fabric matching on replacements made years apart — dye lots shift over time, and some variation between a new module and an old one is normal.
What's not covered
The warranty covers manufacturing, not the ordinary life of furniture. It doesn't apply to:
- Normal wear and tear — fabric softening, minor pilling, gradual fading from light exposure, and the general character a sofa develops with use.
- Damage from misuse — standing or jumping on the sofa, dragging modules across floors, or loading a module beyond 357 lb.
- Stains, spills, burns, cuts, and punctures, including damage from pets.
- Damage from improper cleaning — using solvents, bleach, or cleaning methods outside our care guidance.
- Outdoor use, or storage in damp, unheated, or uncontrolled environments.
- Commercial use — offices, rentals, hospitality, and other non-residential settings.
- Modifications — reupholstery, alterations, or repairs performed by anyone other than LORVA or a party we authorize.
- Sofas bought secondhand. Coverage applies to the original purchaser and isn't transferable.
- Damage that occurred in transit — that's not a warranty matter, it's a delivery claim, and it's handled faster. See below.
If your order arrives damaged
Transit damage isn't a warranty claim. Email care@LORVA.com within 7 days of delivery with photos of the damage and the packaging, and we'll arrange a replacement. Keep the packaging until the claim is resolved — carriers often require it.
Who's covered
- The original purchaser, on orders placed at lorva.com.
- Deliveries within the contiguous 48 United States and Washington, D.C.
- Coverage starts on the date of receiving, not the date of order. Your ship window doesn't eat into your warranty.
- Keep your order confirmation. If you can't find it, we can look the order up by the email address used at purchase.
How to file a claim
1. Email care@LORVA.com with the subject line "Warranty Claim."
2. Include: your order number, which module is affected, a description of what's happening, and photos — one wide shot of the whole sofa and two or three close-ups of the issue.
3. We respond within 2 business days. Most claims are resolved from photos alone.
4. If we need more, we may ask for a short video or additional angles. We won't ask you to ship anything before the claim is approved.
